Who is responsible

Volta at voltakit.app is published by Yuke LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. For anything on this page, write to hello@voltakit.app. We have not appointed a data protection officer, because we are not required to.

What this site collects

There are exactly three things, and two of them need your permission first.

1. Your email address, if you subscribe

The subscribe form sends your email address, which form on the page you used, and the referring URL. We use it to send new articles and nothing else - no product pitches, no sharing, no selling, no renting.

• Legal basis: your consent, given twice - once by submitting the form and once by clicking the confirmation link we email you. An address that never confirms is deleted rather than mailed.
• Processor: Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., United States), which stores the contact and delivers the mail.
• Retention: until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes you from this site's list immediately; there is a link in the footer of every email and a page at /unsubscribe.

2. Analytics, only if you allow it

We would like to know which articles get read. That is Google Analytics 4, and it does not load at all until you press Allow on the banner. If you decline, or ignore it, no analytics script is fetched and no analytics cookie is set. When you do allow it, Google sets _ga and _ga_* cookies and receives your IP address, page URL, referrer, and coarse device and country information.

• Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the button at the bottom of this page.
• Processor: Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC.
• Retention: Google's own retention for the property, set to the shortest option it offers.

3. Server logs, unavoidably

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare records request metadata, including IP addresses, to serve pages and to protect the site from abuse. We do not build profiles from it and we do not have a per-visitor view of it.

• Processor: Cloudflare, Inc.

What is stored in your browser

No cookies are set by this site itself. Three entries may be written to your browser's local storage, all of them because you did something:

• volta-theme - your light or dark preference, if you set one.
• volta-cookie-consent - your answer to the analytics banner and when you gave it.
• tma-waitlist-emails - written only if the subscribe form cannot reach our server, so your address is not silently lost. It never leaves your browser and you can clear it with the rest of your site data.

Where your data goes

Resend, Google and Cloudflare are United States companies, so subscribing or allowing analytics involves a transfer outside the EEA and the UK. Each of them relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and Google and Cloudflare are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, export and restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have equivalent rights under the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.

To use any of them, email hello@voltakit.app. We answer within 30 days. Deletion means your contact is removed from Resend entirely, not just from a list. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority.

Children

This site is written for adults running a business. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.

Changes

If what we collect changes, the date at the top changes and the consent banner asks again rather than assuming your previous answer still covers it.
