A refund policy has a deadline. So does the buyer's bank, and it is longer. Declining a refund on a $10 sale wins you $10 or costs you $15 more, and the split has a number.

Built and shut down a subscription platform on Stripe Connect, Telegram Stars and crypto payouts
We spent 2026 building volta, a subscription platform for creators selling to an audience. It shipped Stripe Connect payouts, Telegram Stars, NOWPayments crypto checkout, refunds, disputes, renewal grace periods and a churn state machine, and it was retired in August 2026 without reaching a paying customer. What survived is the part nobody publishes: what each rail actually charges once the percentage is only the headline, how long money really takes to arrive, what a refund does to a fee already taken, and which of these break first. The articles here spend that, with the provider’s own published terms cited next to every number.
